Facts: GFWC DC formed in 2010 with just 5 members and is growing day-by-day. We currently have approximately 12 members and hold a general meeting once a month, in addition to varying events throughout the community. What We Do: Monthly service projects are the foundation of our volunteer work. Our members believe strongly in the importance of community service and encourage one another to pursue activities that promote our local community and help to improve the lives of others.
Our members support many local non-profit/community organizations and GFWC Partners to include:
My Sister's Place, Bread for the City, Casey Trees, Capital Area Food Bank, Cultural Tourism DC, Ford's Theater, Rock Creek Park, Shot@Life, Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington, Smithsonian Institute, So Others May Eat (SOME), Miriam's Kitchen, Young Playwrights' Theater, Library of Congress, Vierra Falls Church Nursing Home, Prevent Child Abuse America, Ronald McDonald House, Wreaths Across America, the USO, and World Central Kitchen.
How to Get Involved: Becomimg a member of GFWC District of Columbia Woman's Club is as easy as joining us at our next meeting or event to learn more about our growing organization and upcoming activities. We look forward to meeting you! Dues are only $30 per year.
